Ten ways to combat stress

Everyone suffers from healthy tension sometimes. That’s good, tension keeps people focused and encourages action. In some cases, people have too much of this tension in their bodies. This leads to all kinds of complaints and this excessive tension is called stress. How can you reduce this stress?

Time management

Sometimes you also have a lack of time because you take on too much work. You really have to learn to say no. This is also appreciated more at work than poor quality work. If necessary, ask your boss if he can indicate which work has the highest priority.

People who exercise regularly not only feel better physically, but also mentally. Exercise reduces tension in the muscles, which also makes you mentally calmer. When you exercise intensively, you produce endorphins, which allow you to relax more. It may sound strange to you because exercise costs energy, but it also gives you extra energy. An additional advantage is that you sleep better and while you are busy, there is a good chance that you will be too busy to worry.

Express your feelings

Bottling up feelings causes stress. Pent-up feelings can block you and talking about your feelings can provide relief. This does not help everyone, but it does help most people if they find this difficult. Some people need another outlet for their pent-up feelings. They may benefit more from a particular sport such as boxing or running as an outlet for their tensions.

Reduce the use of screens

Frequent use of television, computer, mobile phone and tablet increases the feeling of stress. Many people who work behind a computer every day become tired and tense because of this work. Headaches, memory problems, concentration problems and sleep problems can also be caused by screen work. Find a relaxing hobby

Think of writing, listening to music, taking photographs, walking, sailing, rowing, gardening, swimming or reading. When you have a strenuous job, you need something relaxing to balance it out. Someone who is always under tension has lost the balance in his/her life. Put a cross in your agenda every now and then

You don’t have to do anything at those times. Some time for yourself. Every now and then you need to recharge and do things you enjoy. Listen to your feeling

Maybe you should listen to your feelings more often and avoid these acquaintances. You don’t have to do it alone. You can ask people around you to help you. Ask a colleague to let you know if you go crazy again. Arrange a fixed evening with nice people who can help you relax.
