Get rid of that dry skin. In this article we provide some tips for scrubbing and caring for the skin… and how you can get a nice tan in advance.

In addition to tips for the body, also pay attention to the natural care of the face. Various masks for your face on a natural basis will be described in this article. And once you know which basic products to use, you can easily create your own favorite mask and/or scrub.

Do not make too much of the products below at once. The products described are natural, do not contain preservatives and cannot be stored for a long time. Just make it new again if you want. You don’t have to leave it for the price.

Exfoliate

Exfoliating removes dead skin cells and scrubs a small layer of your skin. So do not use a scrub more than 2-3 times a week.

Scrub with salt

A scrub with salt is the most common and most used. This scrub is not intended for your face! A scrub is often combined with olive oil, used for skin care since the days of the Egyptians. But nowadays there are many types of oil available in the supermarket. Also try walnut oil or hazelnut oil.

Supplies;

  • 3 tablespoons (sea) salt
  • 3 tablespoons (olive) oil
  • if desired (and if you can get it) a few drops of essential oil (lavender oil, rose oil, orange blossom) to make the mixture smell even better.

Mix the ingredients and apply to your body, massaging the skin with circular movements. It will give you velvety soft skin in minutes. Then take a lovely shower to rinse the scrub off your skin.

Scrub with sugar

If you have sensitive and/or dry skin, you can opt for a scrub with sugar. Salt is slightly more dehydrating and can therefore irritate in some cases.

Supplies for a sugar scrub;

  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 3 tablespoons (olive) oil
  • if desired, a few drops of essential oil

Mix the sugar with the oil, apply it to your body. Massage the skin with it in circular movements and rinse the mixture off in the shower. You will feel your skin feeling wonderfully soft. For dry and sensitive skin you could add almond oil, it also smells wonderful.

From these basic products you can use your imagination to make other products. Below are some examples.

Brown (cane) sugar scrub;

Preferably use natural cane sugar to make this scrub. The combination with lemon makes it nice and fresh and suitable for purifying the skin.

  • 2 tablespoons brown (cane) sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • little fresh grated ginger

Lemon juice whitens the skin and hair. After a lemon juice scrub, avoid sitting directly in the sun if you have sensitive skin… unless you want to bleach your hair.

Scrub with Yogurt or milk;

Suitable for dry skin. The wheat bran (vitamin B) is also good for purifying the skin.

  • 3 tablespoons wheat bran
  • 3 tablespoons yogurt or milk
  • optionally add a few drops of essential oil as desired for the wonderful scent and softness of the skin

Exfoliate your face

When exfoliating your face, you have to be a little more careful. Do not use salt for your face, but use milk powder, sugar or ground coffee as a scrubbing agent. Combine this with yogurt, olive oil or another type of oil. Try the following combinations;

Pureed strawberries with honey and olive oil;

  • 1 tablespoon pureed strawberries
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • a little honey

The strawberries have a purifying effect on the skin.

Milk powder with honey and yoghurt;

For dry skin.

  • 1/2 tablespoon of milk powder
  • a little honey
  • 1/2 tablespoon yogurt

Let your imagination run wild when making your own scrub. With these basic products and ingredients you can devise and make your own favorite scrub. Good luck and have fun.

Face mask

After removing those dead skin cells, your skin can also be pampered a bit. A mask ensures that the skin receives the necessary nutrients and that the skin is sufficiently hydrated. This ensures that your skin continues to look young and healthy. Again, it can be made quickly and easily by using natural resources.

For every skin

According to the stories, Cleopatra liked to take baths with milk and honey. These products still work well as a basis for natural beauty. Check out the examples below and make your own favorite mask. Products such as honey, milk, yoghurt and olive oil are suitable for every skin.

Honey mask

Heat the honey in the microwave for a few seconds (do not overheat, of course). The honey should be slightly more liquid to be easy to apply to the skin. Apply the honey to your face. Leave it on for about fifteen minutes and then rinse it off with warm water.

For dry skin

For dry skin you can use ingredients that contain more nutrients and fats. For example, olive oil, almond oil, egg yolk and avocado. Below are some examples.

Honey mask for dry skin

Heat the honey slightly and then mix it with some olive oil and egg yolk. Leave it on for fifteen minutes and rinse with warm water. You can also use the following products for dry skin:

  • Almond oil (mixed with honey)
  • Pureed avocado or banana (can also be mixed with honey if desired)

For oily skin

For example, ingredients such as bran, baker’s yeast, beer (vitamin B), strawberries, cucumber and lemon juice are suitable for oily or somewhat impure skin.

Milk and yeast

Heat some milk in a bowl in the microwave for a few seconds, not too hot! And dissolve a teaspoon of baker’s yeast or baking powder in it. When it foams, you can apply it to your skin.

Egg white and lemon juice

Add a few drops of lemon juice to stiffly beaten egg whites (this mixture also helps against blackheads). Apply this to the skin and let it work for fifteen minutes. Then gently remove the mixture with plenty of warm water.

Fruit or vegetable mask

Mash the flesh of a cucumber and apply this mixture to the face. Pureed strawberries also work well for somewhat impure skin. You can also use a mixture of tomatoes with some wheat flour (vitamin B).

Giving a natural tan to the skin

It’s nice to have some color on your skin before you go out in the sun. This can also be done naturally. Examples to add some color to your skin.

  • Carrot juice (don’t apply too much and often, orange is nice on Queen’s Day). Carrot is packed with vitamins that are good against skin aging and damage caused by too much sun (vitamin E and carotene).
  • Strong tea.

Spread the liquid evenly over the skin and make sure you clean your hands thoroughly or use disposable plastic gloves. After a thorough shower, the tan will also wash away.
